El Pais Semanal - Victor Hugo Saldaño
Victor Hugo Saldaño is the only Argentinian on Death Row in the United States.
Accused of kidnapping and murdering Paul Ray King in a parking lot in Plano, TX, Saldaño was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death in 1996.
After numerous appeals stating that ethnicity was a big element at the time Victor was sentenced due to the so-called "future dangerousness" factor, the Supreme Court sent the case back to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in 2000, upholding the death sentence again in 2002.
After 18 years, Victor is still on Death Row and his execution hasn't been schedule yet.
