Fruitvale Station
Fruitvale Station is a film directed by Ryan Coogler and based on the story of Oscar Grant (portrayed by Michael B. Jordan). a 22 year old Oakland resident who was killed by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) police officer Johannes Mehserle when he was unarmed and immobilized at the Fruitvale Station in the early morning-hours of New Year's Day 2009.
The film debuted at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival winning the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film and later the Best First Film Prize at tie 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
